(1000) Piazzia is an asteroid of the main asteroid belt, which was discovered on August 12, 1923 by Karl Wilhelm Reinmuth. The asteroid was named in honor of Giuseppe Piazzi, the discoverer of the first asteroid ( 1) Ceres.

Piazzia moves at a distance of 2.3687 ( perihelion ) to 3.9858 ( aphelion ) astronomical units in about 5.66 years of the sun. The orbit is inclined 20.549 ° to the ecliptic, the orbital eccentricity is 0.2545.

Piazzia has a diameter of about 48 km, and its albedo is estimated to be 0.0935. The asteroid rotates in 9.470 hours around its own axis.
