( 1012) Sarema is an asteroid of the main belt, which was discovered on 12 January 1924 by German astronomer Karl Wilhelm Reinmuth, who worked at the observatory on the King chair at Heidelberg.

The asteroid is named after a character from a poem by Alexander Pushkin, which also served as the basis for an opera.

Its orbit has a semi-major axis of 2.4805 and an orbital eccentricity of 0.1337. He moves at a distance of 2.1489 ( perihelion ) to 2.8121 ( aphelion ) 3.907 astronomical units in a around the sun. The orbit is inclined 4.037 ° to the ecliptic.
