( 1073 ) Gellivara is an asteroid of the main belt, which was discovered on 14 September 1923 in Vienna by the Austrian astronomer Johann Palisa.

The asteroid is to Gällivare, a town in Swedish Lapland, named. There, gathered on June 29, 1927, astronomers of different nationalities to observe a total solar eclipse.
