( 11585 ) Orlandelassus is an asteroid of the main belt of the Belgian astronomer Eric Walter Elst at the La Silla Observatory ( IAU code 809 ) of the European Southern Observatory in Chile was discovered on September 3, 1994.
The asteroid was named after the Flemish composer of the High Renaissance Orlando di Lasso (1532-1594), who acquired international fame through the line of the Munich Court Orchestra Albrecht V of Bavaria in 1570 and charged by Emperor Maximilian II in the hereditary nobility.
