( 1171 ) Rusthawelia is an asteroid of the main belt, which was discovered on October 3, 1930 in Ukkel by the Belgian astronomer Sylvain Julien Victor Arend.

The asteroid was named after the Georgian poet Shota Rustaveli.

The asteroid discovered on March 14, 1904 by Max Wolf was originally A904 EB, then Adelaide. But since he could not be found again, the name was assigned otherwise ( Adelaide_ ( Asteroid ) ). Only in 1958 it was noted that the asteroid described by Max Wolf in 1904 had been discovered again on 3 October 1930. He was named ( 1171 ) Rusthawelia.
