Cryofluoran is a chemical compound from the group of chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs ), which has been mainly used as a refrigerant and as a propellant for aerosols. Under pressure or by cooling the gas is present as a colorless liquid. It is on the list of greenhouse gases of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change.

Use

Except as refrigerant cryofluoran was used as foaming agents for fire extinguishers and foams, and as solvents and cleaning agents in the electronics industry.

Safety

As with all CFCs formed during the decomposition ( due to heat ) of cryofluoran corrosive substances ( hydrochloric acid, hydrofluoric acid).
