Production and representation

1,2- ethanedithiol is prepared industrially by the reaction of 1,2-dichloroethane with sodium hydrogen sulfide. In the laboratory, it may also be prepared by reacting 1,2-dibromoethane with thiourea, followed by hydrolysis, are shown.
