(1201 ) strenua is an asteroid of the main belt, which was discovered on 14 September 1931 in Heidelberg by the German astronomer Karl Wilhelm Reinmuth.

The name is derived from the Latin word strenuus, which stands for diligently and carefully. Virtues for which the German astronomer Gustav Stracke should be honored, who asked that after him no asteroid should be named.
