(12512) Split

( 12512 ) Split is one of the main asteroid belt, which by the Croatian astronomers Korado Korlević and Marino Dusic at the observatory Višnjan (IAU code 120) was discovered in Croatia on 21 April 1998.

The asteroid was named after the Dalmatian port city of Split, the city was declared together with the Palace of Diocletian in 1979 by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site.
