Kingdom of Sicily
- Beginning of the year: Conradin enters accompanied by Friedrich von Baden and Mastino I della Scala, and an army of 3,000 men in the battle for Italy the kingdom of Sicily, which supported there at first, of Pisa, revolts against Charles of Anjou leads.

- Gerard of Abbeville takes over after the banishment of William of Saint -Amour (see Related links) the leadership of the secular opposition to the Mendikantenorden in Paris by publishing his treatise Contra adversarium perfectionis christianae. This results in the following years to a bitter polemic ( 1269-1271 ).
- Roger Bacon returns for some time ( until the late 1270er years) to Oxford.
