( 13184 ) Augeias is an asteroid from the group of Jupiter Trojans. Thus asteroids are called, which run on the path of Jupiter on the Lagrange points around the sun.

( 13184 ) Augeias was discovered on 4 October 1996 at La Silla Observatory of the European Southern Observatory by the Belgian astronomer Eric Walter Elst. He is associated with the Lagrangian point L4.

The asteroid is named after the mythological king Augeas of Elis in the Peloponnese, the son of Helios and the father of Agasthenes. According to legend, belonged to the cleaning of cattle sheds of the famous 12 tasks of Hercules.
