( 1358 ) Gaika is an asteroid of the main belt, which was discovered on 21 July 1935 in Johannesburg by South African astronomer Cyril V. Jackson.

The asteroid is ( Gaika ) named after the Xhosa chief Ngqika the then British Kaffraria (today Transkei ).
