( 14016 ) Controller is an asteroid of the main belt, which was discovered on January 16, 1994 in southern France by the Belgian astronomer Eric Walter Elst and his French colleague Christian Pollas at the Observatoire de Calern ( observatory code 010 ) north of the town of Grasse.

The asteroid is named after the German physician and naturalist Georg Wilhelm Steller (1709-1746) named, who participated as an expedition doctor from 1741 to the Danish captain Vitus Bering led by Second Kamchatka.
