( 14832 ) Alechinsky is one of the main asteroid belt, which by the Belgian astronomer Eric Walter Elst at the La Silla Observatory ( observatory code 809 ) of the European Southern Observatory in Chile was discovered on 27 August 1987.
The asteroid is named after the Belgian painter Pierre Alechinsky (* 1927) named, whose main work combines Western and Eastern (particularly Japanese ) elements in a graphical embossed representation.
