14th World Scout Jamboree

The 14th World Scout Jamboree ( World Scout meeting ) was held from 29 July to 7 August 1975 in the vicinity of the town of Lillehammer, Norway instead. Participants were over 17,000 Scouts from over 90 nations. Hosts were the five Scandinavian nations Norway, Sweden, Finland, Denmark and Iceland. Jamboree was designated as Nordjamb -75.

Motto

The camp motto: Five Fingers - one hand.

This motto was symbolic of:

  • Five fingers are separated small and weak, together they form an efficient and powerful unit, the hand
  • Scouts from five continents meet
  • The five host Nordic nations

Stock

The camp was held on a site next to the river Lågen the Gudbrandsdal Valley where this leads to Mjøsa, about 20 kilometers from Lillehammer. It was divided into a central area and ten sub camps:

Program

In addition to the general program points ( opening, closing ceremonies ), the following activities were offered:

  • Physical Activities ( Sports )
  • Water Activities ( Water )
  • The North Trail ( storage technology )
  • Nature and Conservation (Environment)
  • Handicraft ( Craft activities )
  • Maihaugen (visit the open air museum Maihaugen in Lillehammer ).
  • Nordic Culture and Democracy ( Nordic Culture and Politics )
  • Modern Technology (including meteorology, chemistry, energy, amateur radio )
  • Hike ( two-day hike )

On August 2, 1975 took place the so-called Jamboree Country Fair, were issued to the stock as currency Northern Crowns.
