( 15239 ) Stenhammar is an asteroid of the main belt, which was discovered at the European Southern Observatory on 4 February 1989 by the Belgian astronomer Eric Walter Elst.

It was named in honor of the Swedish composer, conductor and pianist Wilhelm Stenhammar, who was one of the most important Swedish composer and from 1907 headed the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra as principal conductor until 1922.
