( 15808 ) Zelter is an asteroid of the main belt, which was discovered on April 3, 1994 by the German astronomer frankness Börngen at the Thuringian State Observatory Tautenburg.

It was named in honor of the German composer, conductor and music educator Carl Friedrich Zelter, set to music numerous poems of Goethe. In 1809 he founded the first Liedertafel in Berlin.
