( 16560 ) Daitor is an asteroid from the group of Jupiter Trojans. Thus asteroids are called, which run on the path of Jupiter on the Lagrange points around the sun.

( 16560 ) Daitor was discovered on November 2, 1991 by the Belgian astronomer Eric Walter Elst at the La Silla Observatory of the European Southern Observatory ( IAU code 809). He is associated with the Lagrangian point L5.

The asteroid is named after the mythological Trojan hero Daitor, who was killed during the Trojan War by Teucer, the half-brother of Ajax.
