16th Chess Olympiad
The 16th Chess Olympiad 1964 was held from November 2 to 25, 1964 in Tel Aviv ( Israel).

It was attended by 50 teams, identified in seven opening acts The teams for the final groups A to D. 294 players ( including 31 grandmasters and 40 international masters ) took part in the competition. In both the opening acts as well as in the final group round robin tournaments were held. The first two teams each opening act qualified for the Final Group A
Chief Judge was Alois Nagler from Switzerland. The cooling-off period was 40 moves in 150 minutes, then one hour for each 16 moves. The placement (RG) was due to the board points (BP ), Team Points (MP) and a direct comparison. Venue was the Sheraton Hotel in Tel Aviv.
