( 18228 ) Hyperenor is an asteroid from the group of Jupiter Trojans. Thus asteroids are called, which run on the path of Jupiter on the Lagrange points around the sun.

( 18228 ) Hyperenor was discovered by the Dutch astronomer Cornelis Johannes van Houten, Ingrid van Houten - Groeneveld and Tom Gehrels at Palomar Observatory (IAU code 675) on 26 March 1971. He is associated with the Lagrangian point L5.

The asteroid is named after the mythological Trojan hero Hyperenor, a son of the Trojan hero Panthoos. He was a brother of Euphorbos and Polydamas.
