( 18359 ) Jakob Staude is an asteroid of the main belt, which was discovered on 13 October 1990 at the Thuringian State Observatory Tautenburg by astronomers Lutz D. Schmadel and frankness Börngen.

Jakob Staude (born 1944) worked until his retirement at the Heidelberg Max Planck Institute for Astronomy as an astronomer in the field of star formation. From 1981 to 2007 Staude was editor in chief, he is since 2008 one of the editors of the magazine Stars and space. The name was suggested by Lutz Schmadel.
