( 18610 ) Arthur Dent is an asteroid in the main asteroid belt. He was discovered on February 7, 1998 by Felix Hormuth from Heppenheim Stark Castle Observatory. He also created the proposal of naming comes after the main character from Douglas Adams ' work The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Arthur Dent. The Minor Planet Center agreed to this designation and gave the name finally in May 2001. Two days after the official naming Douglas Adams died.
