1880 Wimbledon Championship

The fourth Wimbledon Championships were held on the grounds of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in July 1880. With a total of 60 players with a record number of participants was recorded, which until 1904 could not be beaten. The entrance fee for spectators, yet a shilling, was increased in the last 10 days of the tournament on a half crown.

At the finals, the Challenge Round, about 1,300 people attended.

The rules were revised again: If a fee, the network edge touched, and then fell into the service court, he was allowed to be repeated.
