18th Army (Wehrmacht)

The 18th Army / Army High Command 18 ( 18th Army ) was a major unit of the Army of the Wehrmacht during the Second World War. She was supreme command each alternating Army Corps as well as many special forces.

List

The 18th Army was established on November 4, 1939 at the Military District VI.

She let out during the campaign in the west through the Netherlands and Belgium to northern France before, was moved from July 1940 to East Prussia and took part in the Russian campaign, where they formed the nucleus of Army Group North, together with the 16th Army.

The army was to fall of 1944 gradually pushed back to Courland, where they surrendered as part of Army Group Courland on 8 May 1945.
