The 29th edition of the Wimbledon Championships took place in 1905 on the grounds of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club on Worple Road instead.

Starting this year, the player of the tournament field was much more international. From a total of 71 players during the Men's All- Comers Competition came 16 not from the UK, among them Ferdinand Uhl of the first participants from Germany. In the women even with May Sutton won the first non- Briton the tournament.

Men's Singles

Lawrence Doherty defeated in the Challenge Round of the Australian Norman Brookes in three sets and thus secured his fourth consecutive title.

Women's Singles

The American May Sutton sat in the Challenge Round against the defending champion Dorothea Douglass in straight sets by.

Men's doubles

Lawrence and Reginald Doherty defeated as in the previous year in the Challenge Round Sydney Smith and Frank Riseley 6:2, 6:4, 6:8 and 6:3.
