1908 Tour de France

The Tour de France in 1908 lasted from July 13 to August 9. The tour was the same length as the previous year and took place on the exact same route. Also the scoring system to determine the winner has continued to operate.

Race course

36 of 114 riders started reached the finish in Paris. Some riders were the first to a removable inner tubes. Last year's winner Lucien Petit- Breton was considered a favorite for the overall victory. He lived up to expectations and was the first rider ever for a second time winner of the Tour. Petit- Breton was one of the best mechanics in the field, so was after punctures each very quickly back on the road and was able to pull the decisive advantage. Only François Faber was able him to be somewhat dangerous and won four stages.
