The 40th edition of the Wimbledon Championships took place in 1920 on the grounds of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club on Worple Road instead.

Suzanne Lenglen won in all competitions in which they took ( singles, doubles and mixed), the title.

Men's Singles

Bill Tilden won his first Wimbledon title.

Women's Singles

Suzanne Lenglen was able to repeat their previous success. In the Challenge Round, they beat the challenger Dorothea Douglass Chambers in two sets.

Men's doubles

The men's doubles were won by the Americans Charles Garland and Richard Norris Williams.

Women Doubles

Suzanne Lenglen and Elizabeth Ryan successfully defended their doubles title. Starting this year, no Challenge Round was played more in women's doubles; from 1922 it was abolished in the other competitions.

Mixed

In mixed Suzanne Lenglen and Gerald Patterson won.
