1922–23 in English football

The Football League First Division 1922/23, was the 31st season of the Football League First Division as the highest English football league. The Liverpool defended with six points behind before the AFC Sunderland last year's title and won the overall championship in his fourth English club's history. Of the two climbers Nottingham Forest FC and Stoke only the club from Nottingham could get the class; next to the FC Stoke had to Oldham Athletic take the course in the Second Division. These two teams should be in the following season replaced by the two newly promoted second division Notts County and West Ham United.

A total of 562 players were used, with Liverpool having the least and 19 Oldham Athletic and Sunderland AFC with 31 aufboten most players in league games. 153 newcomers were offset by 165 footballers who most recently came into play in the season 1922/23.

In the following list, all players were listed who came for Liverpool in a league match for use during the 1922/23 season. It must be noted that in most cases a minimum number of games will be provided in English football to accept the official champion medal allowed. As regards the specific arrangements prior to the introduction of the Premier League, there is lack of clarity, all the players with an asterisk (*) have been provided which have received no champion medal presumably because of their small contribution. In brackets the number of bets as well as the goals achieved are called.
