1926–27 in English football

The Football League First Division in 1926/27 was the 35th season of the Football League First Division as the highest English football league. Newcastle United won with five points ahead of the defending champions Huddersfield Town was the fourth English championship in their history. Both Up The Wednesday and Derby County could get the class; instead had to Leeds United and West Bromwich Albion the transition to the Second Division compete. These two teams should be in the following season replaced by the two second division team FC Middlesbrough FC Portsmouth.

A total of 553 players were used, with the fewest Newcastle United and Everton with 33 aufboten with 21, most players in league games. 135 newcomers were offset by 136 footballers who most recently came into play in the season 1926/27.
