The 47th edition of the Wimbledon Championships took place in 1927 on the grounds of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club on Church Road instead.

This year, a set list was introduced in all competitions against which tournament schedules have been established. The South African Billie Tapscott caused a scandal when she played on an outdoor court without socks. For the first time the radio of the BBC was games of the tournament.

Men's Singles

In the final, Henri Cochet defeated his compatriot Jean Borotra. For the first time in the history of Wimbledon was not a quarter-finalist from the UK.

Women's Singles

In the women won Helen Wills Moody - her first of eight Wimbledon singles titles until 1938., You defeating in the final the Spanish Lili de Alvarez in two sets.

Men's doubles

In men's doubles, the American Frank Hunter and Bill Tilden won.

Women Doubles

In the women's doubles Helen Wills Moody, and Elizabeth Ryan were successful.

Mixed

In mixed- finals Frank Hunter and Elizabeth Ryan defeated last year's winners Leslie Godfree and Kathleen McKane Godfree -.
