1929 South American Championships in Athletics
The VI. Athletics South America Championships were held from 5 until May 10, held in Lima, Peru where first appeared as an organizer. All previous championships were held in April.
During this time the Uruguayans were missing, were the first athletes from Bolivia at the start, but they could not win a medal. The team competition was won by the Argentine team with 78 points against the Chileans with 50 points and Peru with 4 points. The most successful athlete was the Argentine Hernan Sprinter Spinassi with three titles including the relay.
