The 49th edition of the Wimbledon Championships took place in 1929 on the grounds of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club on Church Road instead.

Due to the high demand for tickets more seats on Centre Court and Court No. were. 1 built. For the first time electronic display boards were used.

Men's Singles

In the men's Henri Cochet took his second title after 1927.

Women's Singles

Helen Wills Moody - won their third consecutive title. In the final she beat Helen Jacobs in two sets.

Men's doubles

In the men's doubles Wilmer Allison and John Van Ryn won.

Women Doubles

Phoebe Watson and Peggy Saunders won, like last year, the title in women's doubles.

Mixed

In mixed Helen Wills Moody, and Frank Hunter were successful.
