1930 British Empire Games
The British Empire Games in 1930 were the first edition of that event, which is known as the Commonwealth Games today. They found from 16 to 23 August 1930 in the Canadian city of Hamilton, Ontario instead.
59 contests in the sports Bowls, Boxing, Athletics, wrestling, rowing and swimming were wearing (including diving). It was attended by around 400 athletes from eleven countries, women were eligible to participate only in the water sports competitions. Most events were held in the Civic Stadium (now Ivor Wynne Stadium ) instead. Housed athletes were in a school next to the stadium, where they two dozen shared a classroom.
