1934–35 Balkan Cup

The 5th Balkan Cup was a competition for national football teams of countries from the Balkan region. The games were this time not as before in the summer, but in December 1934 and January 1935 in the capital of Greece Athens. Addition to the host took as in the previous editions again Bulgaria, Yugoslavia and Romania in the tournament. Each team played in group mode once against each other. The decision for the title was in comparison to previous years, quite closely, in part because for the first time a game ended in a draw in the tournament's history. Finally, for the first time Yugoslavia was in the history of the competition at the top. Defending champion Romania finished third. Host Greece won its first game in the Balkan Cup since the first edition. Top scorer were the Yugoslavs Aleksandar Tirnanić and Aleksandar Tomasevic (three hits).
