1934–35 Primeira Liga

The Campeonato da Liga 1934/35 was the first audition time the Portuguese top football men.

Preceding the official start of the premier league 1938/39, there were four trial game times. The winners in these four years, the Campeonato da Liga bore the title Campeão de Liga ( Liga champions = ). While the Federação Portuguesa de Futebol (FPF ) lists these titles in a separate list, so officially does not evaluate, the clubs are they added to their national champion titles. The title Campeão de Portugal ( Portuguese = Master ) was held in parallel running competition Campeonato de Portugal in the knockout mode.

In the first trial season of FC Porto became the first league champion.

Participant

At the first trial season, eight teams from four cities. With Belenenses, Benfica, Sporting and União half of the participants came from the capital Lisbon. From Porto participated Académico and FC Porto, from the university town of Coimbra and the Académica from the Setúbal Vitória.

Until 1948, the teams were eligible, have qualified through regional tournaments. Promotion and relegation was introduced afterwards.
