1938 European Athletics Championships
The 2nd European Athletics Championships in 1938 were held at two different locations. The competitions of the men were held in Paris from September 3 to 5, Women on 17 and 18 September in Vienna.
Highlights were the world record for 80 -meter hurdles by Claudia Testoni ( 11.6 s ) and the European record over 110 meters hurdles by Don Finlay ( 14.3 s ).

Originally won Dora Ratjen with the new world record height of 1.70 m competition. When it was determined that Ratjen was in fact a man, her title was revoked.
