The Mestaruussarja 1938 was the ninth season of the Finnish Mestaruussarja in football.
Master was HJK Helsinki Turku PS. Defending HIFK Helsinki could escape the relegation only thanks to a superior goal difference compared to Kuopio PT.

Of the eight teams were starting four from Helsinki and one each from Turku and Viipuri ( Vyborg ), Kuopio and Vaasa.
Direct relegated: Sudet Viipuri Relegation: Kuopio PT - Kiffen Helsinki 4:2 and 3:2 (so Kuopio PT remains in the Mestaruussarja ). Direct Movers: Reipas Viipuri
