1938 Wimbledon Championships

The 58th edition of the Wimbledon Championships took place in 1938 on the grounds of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club on Church Road instead.

Don Budge won again all three contests in which he competed. He was also the first player to win all four Grand Slam tournaments this year.

Men's Singles

Don Budge defeated in the final of Henry Austin in three sets.

Women's Singles

Helen Wills Moody, won her eighth and final Wimbledon singles title. This record was not surpassed until 1990 by Martina Navratilova. As the first unseeded player since the introduction of seedings 1927 Helen Jacobs reached the final.

Men's doubles

In the men's doubles Don Budge and Gene Mako defended their title.

Women Doubles

In the women's doubles Sarah Fabyan and Alice Marble were successful.

Mixed

The Mixed Competition decided as in the previous Alice Marble and Don Budge in itself.
