1941 Tschammerpokal

The Tschammerpokal 1941, the seventh edition of the competition. The competition was played again in four phases. In the preliminary round the unterklassigsten teams played for a place in the second round, in the district division also intervened in the action. Then the competition was continued in six Gaugruppen in which the now 20 Fußballgaue were grouped regionally. By further in World War II areas annexed the provinces of Danzig-West Prussia and Alsace were new. In four main rounds of the 64 participants were determined for the final round.

A total of ten district league teams reached the first final round, with the Konigsberg STV and the LSV Kamp- Koszalin succeeded two teams and the first final round to survive. While Konigsberg failed in the second final round, managed the LSV Kamp to the quarter finals where they lost the Cup Winners' Cup later Dresdner SC. For the record win the final round of the Stuttgart Kickers attended with a 17-0 victory over the VfB 05 Knielingen, a remarkable comeback showed Borussia Fulda against Kickers Offenbach, when you could turn into a 9:6 a 1:5 halftime residue.

By mid-1941, beginning the war against the Soviet Union, the clubs were no longer many regular players available, what some surprises Cup beneficiary. Overall, the number of participants declined slightly again, which was mainly because that smaller clubs could convene its members in the armed forces do not compensate and had to log off from the game. The complete Cup was played in the knockout system. Finished a game draw after extra time, there was a replay.

Cup winner was the Dresdner SC. Due to a 2-1 win over FC Schalke 04 in front of 70,000 spectators at the Olympic Stadium in Berlin

The Gaugruppenspiele took place between 20 April and 6 July.

1 final round

The match against SK Rapid Wien FC Vienna took place on July 8, FK Austria Wien vs SC Wacker Wien on 10 July. The pairing LSV Wurzen against Dresdner SC was discharged on July 20, the remaining games on July 12.

The match against Fortuna Dusseldorf Cologne Victoria took place on 27 July, the other two games already on 20 July

2 final round

The game of Tennis Borussia Berlin vs. Blue - White Berlin took place on August 2, Schalke 04 against Fortuna Dusseldorf and 1.FC Nürnberg against SpVgg Fürth were held on August 10. The remaining games were held on August 3.

Replay

The replay took place on 10 August.

Second round

The game Schwarz-Weiß Essen against FC Schalke 04 took place on 31 August, the remaining games were held on August 24.

Quarterfinals

The quarter-final pairings were held on September 21.

Semifinal

Both semi-finals were held on 12 October.

With Schalke 04 and Dresdner SC of the second and the third in the German Championship in 1941 clashed, Dresdner went as Cup defending champions. Dresden coach Georg Köhler sent his team with the motto on the field to play the Schalke defense with long passes to the external rotor. The recipe has already went on after nine minutes when the Left Wing Hallows Henry Kugler brought his team a 1-0 lead. It was not until the restart for the second half, before Schalke had found his game. With full penetrated actions they now constricted Dresdner in their half, and the half left playing striker Ernst Kuzorra could score the equalizer in the 54th minute. The DSC but it does not seem to be impressed and relied on his counter attacks. Just two minutes after the equalizer was Dresden guest player from Hamburger SV, Left Wing Gustav Carstens, crowded misconduct Herbert Burdenski and bring his team back in front.
