1946–47 Football League

The Football League First Division 1946/47, was the 48th season of the Football League First Division as the highest English football league and also the first season after the end of World War II. The Liverpool FC won each with one point ahead of the chasing Manchester United and Wolverhampton Wanderers now his fifth English championship. Both newly promoted Blackburn Rovers and Sheffield United were able to get the class; instead had to play the course in the Second Division of Brentford FC and Leeds United. These two teams should be in the following season replaced by the two second-division promoted Manchester City and Burnley FC.

A total of 555 players were used, with Sheffield United and Manchester United with 21 the least and Huddersfield Town with 32 mustered the most players in league games. 351 newcomers were offset by 169 footballers who most recently came into play in the 1946/47 season.

In the following list, all players were listed who came for Liverpool in a league match for use during the 1946/47 season. It must be noted that in most cases a minimum number of games will be provided in English football to accept the official champion medal allowed. As regards the specific arrangements prior to the introduction of the Premier League, there is lack of clarity, all the players with an asterisk (*) have been provided which have received no champion medal presumably because of their small contribution. In brackets the number of bets as well as the goals achieved are called.
