The 60th edition of the Wimbledon Championships took place in 1946 on the grounds of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club on Church Road instead.

It was initially uncertain. whether the tournament could be resumed as early as this year. The center court was badly damaged by a bomb that had destroyed 1,200 seats. Also food, clothing and gasoline were rationed. But finally managed to make a tournament with players from 23 countries on the legs.

This year, no qualification was played.

Men's Singles

The Frenchman Yvon Petra defeated in the finals Geoffrey Brown in five sets. Petra came as a last Wimbledon champion in long pants.

Women's Singles

In the women won Pauline Betz.

Men's doubles

In men's doubles, Tom Brown and Jack Kramer were able to prevail.

Women Doubles

In the women's doubles Louise Brough and Margaret Osborne won the title.

Mixed

In mixed Louise Brough and Tom Brown won.
