1947–48 AHL season

The season 1947/48 was the twelfth regular season of the American Hockey League ( AHL ). During the regular season, the eleven teams played each 68 games. The top six teams in the AHL then played in a play-off round to the Calder Cup.

Calder Cup Playoffs

Mode

For the play-offs, the six best teams in the American Hockey League qualified. In the first play-off round scored at the first of the Eastern Division to the First Division of the Western, the second in the Eastern Division to the Second of the Western Division, and the Third Division of the easern to the third party of the Western Division. The two winners of the duels of the teams ranked two and three then met each other in the second round, while the winner of the duel between the two division winners qualified automatically by a bye to the final. The first two play-off rounds took place in the best-of -three mode, with the two division winners in the Best-of -Seven mode played for the finals. The final itself was also played in the best- of-seven mode.
