1947–48 Football League

The Football League First Division 1947/48 was the 49th season of the Football League First Division English as the highest football league. Arsenal won with seven points clear of the chasing Manchester United and Burnley FC 's now the sixth English championship. Besides Burnley held with Manchester City, the second year the class climber; instead had to Blackburn Rovers and Grimsby Town the transition to the Second Division compete. These two teams should be in the following season replaced by the two newly promoted second division Birmingham City and Newcastle United.

A total of 526 players were used, with Arsenal and Burnley FC with 19 the least and Blackburn Rovers with 30 aufboten most players in league games. 148 newcomers were offset by 143 footballers who most recently came into play in the 1947/48 season.
