1947–48 NHL season
The NHL season 1947/48 was the 31st season of the National Hockey League. Six teams each played 60 games. The Stanley Cup won by the Toronto Maple Leafs after a 4-0 win in the final series against the Chicago Blackhawks.
The Toronto Maple Leafs hosted the first All- Star Games. The reigning Stanley Cup champion defeated the NHL All-Stars 4-3. At that time not yet available and therefore particularly sensation was exciting an exchange transaction in which five players from Toronto to Chicago changed in order to gain the two-time leading scorer Max Bentley and Cy Thomas for the Blackhawks.
