The Divizia A 1948/49, was the 12th season in the history of Romanian football league Divizia A. Meister was first ICO Oradea. Before start of the season the number of teams was reduced to 14

Regulate

The Divizia A played with 14 teams. The four last-place teams were relegated in the Divizia B, while there were only two climbers since the league was reduced to 12 teams. For a victory, there were two points for a draw and one point for a loss no points.

Results

1 Libertatea Oradea changed his name to ICO Oradea.

2 AS Armata Bucharest changed his name to CSCA Bucharest.

3 Distribuţia Bucharest changed his name to Petrolul Bucharest.

Politehnica Timişoara 4 changed its name to CSU Timişoara.

5 Universitatea Cluj changed his name to CSU Cluj.
