1948 Mestaruussarja

The Mestaruussarja 1948 was the first season of Mestaruussarja, in the clubs of both major sports federations together in a league playing off the championship. For this purpose, in each case the best eight teams in the preseason of the National Sports Association and the Workers' Sports Federation TUL had qualified.

It was played in a single round, so each team had to contest 15 games. Since 1949, the Mestaruussarja was reduced to twelve teams, there were six relegated and two promoted. The championship secured Vaasa PS, defeated in a discharged because of a tie playoff TPS Turku 3-0. The TUL - clubs had to do with the little championship: tuwé Turku was the best TUL Club seventh. Of the six teams relegated five of TUL were belonging.

Because of a tie after 15 days of play table Vaasa PS First and Second- TPS Turku contested a playoff at the Finnish football championship 1948:

Thus Vaasa PS Finnish football champions in 1948.
