The 62nd edition of the Wimbledon Championships took place in 1948 on the grounds of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club on Church Road instead.

This year, the junior competition for boys and girls has been introduced. On the middle Saturday was set up with about 33,000 visitors a new attendance record.

Men's Singles

Bob Falkenburg, who was known for his strong serve, won his only title. In the final he beat John Bromwich, where he had to fend off two match points.

Women's Singles

Men's doubles

The Australian John Bromwich and Frank Sedgman won the doubles final of the men.

In the men's doubles Bob Falkenburg and Jack Kramer won.

Women Doubles

In the women's doubles Louise Brough Clapp - and Margaret Osborne duPont won their second title - after 1946.

Mixed

In mixed Louise Brough Clapp - and John Bromwich defended the title.
