1949–50 Nationalliga A season

The season 1949/1950 was the twelfth regular hosting of the National League A, the top Swiss league in hockey. Swiss champion HC Davos.

Mode

Like last year, the league in the main round was divided into two groups of four teams each. Each of the teams played in home and away leg against each group opponent, bringing the total number of matches per team was six. Subsequently, the two best teams in each group qualified for the final round, the winner champion, while the remaining four teams competed against each other for the league and the Last of the relegation round had to compete against the best second division side in the relegation. For a win, each team was given two points, a draw one point. At a loss to give any points.

The results from the main round between the two teams in a group aufliefen together in the final or relegation round were incorporated into the final or relegation round.

Final round

After the HC Davos was dethroned last year by eleven league titles in a row from Zurich SC, he was back to its former strength and won the 21th Swiss league title in club history.

The Grasshopper-Club met as in the previous year to Ambri -Piotta, sat down just by 3-2 and was thus able to secure the league.
