1949 South American Championship

The Campeonato Sudamericano 1949 was the 21st playout of the South American continental championship in football and was held from April 3 to May 11 for the third time in Brazil instead. Up to defending champion Argentina all 8 of its current members of CONMEBOL at the start were.
