1950–51 NHL season
The NHL season 1950/51 was the 34th season in the National Hockey League. Six teams each played 70 games. The Stanley Cup won by the Toronto Maple Leafs after a 4-1 victory in the final series against the Montreal Canadiens for the fifth time in seven years. The winning goal in the last Final match in overtime scored Bill Barilko. The photo of the pike end Barilko is certainly the most famous picture from the time of the Original Six and one of the last of him. He did not return from a fishing trip. His body was not found until 1962, in which the Leafs win in the same year, their next Cup. Gordie Howe returned to a severe head injury, temporarily with a helmet in the NHL back. After a severe concussion his headache had given way, his opponents but he is preparing such. After 22 years, he was the first of the ranking in goals (43 ), assists (43) and points ( 86) leads.
